Cape Town Destination Wedding, Tintswalo Atlantic

INSPIRATION PHOTOSHOOT

Cape Town Destination Wedding Venue: Tintswalo Atlantic.

Planning a wedding is akin to orchestrating a symphony—each element must harmonise perfectly to create an unforgettable experience. As a Cape Town destination wedding planner, I’ve been privileged to design weddings at some of the most breathtaking locations in the world, but none as close to my heart as Tintswalo Atlantic. Nestled below the majestic folds of Chapman's Peak mountain, this 5-star boutique hotel offers an idyllic setting for intimate weddings and celebrations.

Our philosophy behind the shoot

Our philosophy at Emma Jane Weddings centres on quiet luxury—a refined elegance that is both understated and exclusive. This shoot was a testament to that ethos. By blending modern and contemporary elements with the wild, organic beauty of the location, we created a scene that is both sophisticated and deeply connected to nature.

The setting

Lodged between the looming Chapman’s Peak mountainside and the Atlantic Ocean, Tintswalo Atlantic is a hidden coastal gem. The venue is right at sea level, offering a truly peaceful and beautiful setting for intimate weddings. As you step onto the property, you’re greeted by the glittering ocean, which serves as a perfect backdrop for any event. The lodge has been hailed as one of the most romantic destinations in Southern Africa, making it a coveted wedding and honeymoon venue.

The design

For the floral design, we chose wild and organic flowers, all in white. This choice mirrored the natural beauty of the location while adding a touch of elegance. The modern and contemporary table design featured sleek lines and understated décor, which allowed the flowers to take centre stage. We included hanging lights with modern lampshades, which offset the softness of the flowers and added a touch of contemporary flair. The glittering ocean in the background enhanced the overall aesthetic, making the table setting a focal point that was both dramatic and beautiful.

In contrast to the light and airy table design, we created a lounge area with dark colours. This space was tucked into the leafy deck area, overlooking the ocean. The darker hues provided a cosy, intimate atmosphere where guests could relax and enjoy the view. The juxtaposition of the lounge area against the light, modern table design created a dynamic visual experience that highlighted the versatility of the venue.

A wedding shoot wouldn’t be complete without a couple, and Lynn & Andrew were perfect for this role. Although they were acting as our models, their chemistry and love for each other were genuine, adding authenticity to the shoot. As Cape Tonians, they embodied the warmth and friendliness that this city is known for, making them an ideal representation of our Cape Town wedding philosophy.

Considering a Cape Town destination wedding?

Why not make it a weekend celebration. Cape Town is a vibrant city with a plethora of activities to enjoy before and after the wedding. Here are a few ideas:

The Day Before the Wedding:

  1. Wine Tasting in Constantia: Start your wedding celebrations with a relaxing day of wine tasting in the Constantia Valley. Known for its historic vineyards and exquisite wines, this area offers a picturesque setting to unwind and enjoy some of South Africa’s finest vintages.

  2. A Scenic Drive Along Chapman’s Peak: Take a leisurely drive along Chapman’s Peak Drive. The route offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic coastline and is one of the most scenic drives in the world. It’s a perfect way to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Cape Town.

  3. Sunset Picnic on Signal Hill: End the day with a sunset picnic on Signal Hill. Pack a basket with local delicacies and enjoy panoramic views of the city as the sun sets over the ocean. It’s a serene and romantic way to spend the evening before your big day.

The Day After the Wedding:

  1. Explore the V&A Waterfront: Spend the day exploring the V&A Waterfront. With its mix of shopping, dining, and entertainment options, there’s something for everyone. Take a boat ride to Robben Island or simply enjoy the vibrant atmosphere.

  2. Hike Up Table Mountain: For the more adventurous, a hike up Table Mountain is a must. The views from the top are spectacular, and it’s a great way to start your first day as a married couple. Alternatively, take the cable car for a more relaxed ascent.

  3. Relax on the Beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay: After the excitement of the wedding, relax on the pristine beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay. With their white sand and clear waters, these beaches are perfect for unwinding and soaking up the sun.
